Switch off & quiet your restless mind in minutes every day

Some days your head just won't shut up, no matter how long you sit down for.

The Kinusaiga Art Kit fixes that. A board, a stack of patterned fabric, one small section at a time - cut, peel, tuck, repeat. The repetition is the point. It gives your hands something steady to follow, and for the first time all day, your head drifts off & goes silent.

close no sewing, no glue, no mess

End the night with something you can hang up

An hour of TV leaves you with nothing. An hour of scrolling leaves you with less. This one ends with a finished piece of art in your hands - and because the stencil and reference card map out every section for you, it comes out looking like it took years of practice. Hang it up and people assume you bought it.

Finally something that works!

I've tried meditation apps, breathing exercises, all of it. Nothing has shut my brain up the way this does. I did the first corner on a Tuesday night and realized I hadn't thought about work in forty minutes. That NEVER happens.

Better than the jigsaw.

Same nice quiet feeling of working through something piece by piece, except at the end you've got art instead of a box to put back in the cupboard. Bit obsessed, honestly. I've ordered the puffin one as well.

Ten minutes turned into two hours.

I only meant to do one section before bed. Looked up and it was nearly midnight and most of the board was done. There's something about the tucking part that you just cannot stop doing.

I genuinely can't sew.

Not one stitch. I was fully expecting to mess this up and I didn't, because the stencil does all the thinking for you. Mine is on the wall in the hallway and my mother in law asked which gallery I got it from.

My husband took over!

Bought it for me, he "just wanted a look" at it, and I got it back three days later finished. He is not a crafty man AT ALL. We've ordered two more so nobody has to share.

Best gift I've given in years!

Got one each for my mum and my sister for Christmas and they both rang me about it, which never happens with the usual candles. Ended up buying myself the turtle one in the end.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Japanese fabric art technique, often called painting with fabric. You press small pieces of patterned cloth into grooves cut in a board, and the picture builds up piece by piece.

No. The stencil maps out every section for you and a video walks you through the cutting, so there's nothing to plan, measure or figure out before you start.

Just a pair of scissors. The board, stencil, cutting knife, fabric, tucking tool, instruction sheet and reference card all come in the kit.

Most people finish in two to four evenings. There's no wrong pace, and you can stop mid-section and pick it straight back up.

Pull it back out and try again. Nothing is fixed until you've trimmed it, so the first hour is as forgiving as you need it to be.

Yes. The stencil sets the shapes, not the shades - swap any fabric for another and the design still works.

No. Frames are sold separately as an add-on above, so you can decide whether you want one.

5 x 5 in (12.7 x 12.7 cm) - small enough for a shelf or a gallery wall, detailed enough to look like a real piece of art.

For teens and up, or younger with an adult doing the cutting. The scoring step uses a craft knife, and the trimming needs scissors - the tucking itself is completely safe.
